Fire Awareness & Fire Warden Training Course

Fire poses a significant threat to your business in many ways. After the immediate danger to people and property you also have to consider the longer term risks caused by interference to your business operations.

As will as discharging your legal responsibilities as an employer, this course will ensure that your staff are well prepared to prevent fires breaking out and will also know how to act shodl the worst happen.

After completing the Fire Awareness Course your staff will:
  • understand how fires start and spread
  • understand the different types of fires that can happen in their work place
  • be sure what their duties are should a fire break out
  • know about the different types of fire extinguishers, plus what types of fire they can and cannot be used on
  • how to prevent fires happening
  • your company fire procedures
This is a 90 minute classroom-based course. We can also include practical fire extinguisher demonstrations and workshops for a more complete course.

After completing the Fire Warden Course your staff will understand:
  • Fire Warden's responsibilities and duties
  • Fire Safety legal issues
  • how to evacuate staff in the event of a fire and the importance of fire evacuation practices
  • what causes fires to break out, how to prevent this happening
  • the cost of having a fire at work
  • how to use different fire extinguisher types appropriate to the fire - this does include a practical demonstration
Course participants are encouraged to think about and share their individual experiences, then consider how to implement a successful anti-fire strategy in their own place of work.

After completing the course, attendees will be able to assume the responsibilities of a Fire Warden and ensure that good practices are in place to prevent fire, what to do in the event of a fire and how to manage staff evacuation, and how to use fire extinguishers.
